A poetic account of true love between two men—and a woman?—this exploration of magic, family and friendship is a solid read. It also spices up the connection between women.

The Magician's Assistant - Ann Patchet

Dealing with the loss of a great love, and friendship, Percy Turner reflects on the sum of her life and her future. Broken, but not defeated, she recounts a page-turning story.

Burning Ground - Pearl Luke

This book is hot. However, there are some who have only read page 147 and been satisfied. There’s even a tasty film to compare your imagination to when you are finished!

Tipping the Velvet - Sarah Waters

New York, just before the “Dirty Thirties,” is the setting of this interesting, subtle trio love plot—which really isn’t about romance. Instead, a mysterious death and discussion of what it really means to “pass” will have you talking for hours afterwards.

Passing - Nella Larson

Only Say The Word

This title was picked up in the pilot episode of The L Word. It’s a collection of short stories, centering on multiple lovers and complicated relationships. L Word is into its fifth season, and the book has still not been finished.
